biomarkerlibrary™

Discovery, assay development and testing informatics

NextGen Sciences' biomarkerlibrary™ is a customized suite of tools and technologies together with a growing knowledge base of quantitative protein assay data. The library enables rapid progress through the discovery, assay development & testing pipeline, and assists researchers in the validation and confirmation of protein biomarkers.

NextGen is continuously generating data on samples from a variety of biological sources such as plasma, urine, CSF thus updating the data within the library. The biomarkerlibrary™ stores results from these studies and maintains information on the detected proteins, facilitating the development of custom quantitative assays.

The structure of the biomarkerlibrary™ mirrors the 3-phases of biomarkerexpress™:

DiscoveryLib™: SAMPLES to CANDIDATE BIOMARKERS
Information generated via our discovery platforms, including GelC-MS, dMS, iTRAQ, SILAC, 2D Gels, provides lists of potential biomarkers, as well as underlying data useful in assay development.
AssayLib™: CANDIDATE BIOMARKERS to PROTEIN ASSAY
Database storing information regarding the targeted measurement of specific proteins in biological samples. Sample and instrument method details necessary for fully developing multiplexed MRM protein assays are managed.
TestingLib™: CLIENT SAMPLES to QUANTITATIVE PROTEIN DATA
The TestingLib module contains the results of targeted protein assay experiments, as well as SOPs for the sample processing and testing that produces the data.
Tools:
The biomarkerlibrary™ is developed using Microsoft's .NET framework as well as commercially available tools such as Proteome Software's Scaffold. The library enforces open standards such as mzML.
