Mr
Rhatigan has been a director of a number of public companies
listed in London, Vancouver and Toronto and has extensive
international experience in many fields including construction,
commercial and residential property investment and development,
stone quarrying, asphalt manufacturing, mining and mineral
exploration. Mr Rhatigan is Vice Chairman, non-executive,
of Manor River Resources Inc., a Canadian company whose
shares are quoted on the Toronto Venture Exchange and on
AIM and is Chairman of its Audit Committee and also of its
Remunition Committee.

Heffernan PhD

Dr
Heffernan has over 20 years experience in the global life
science market and joined NextGen Sciences from Upstate
Ltd, where he held the position of Managing Director, Europe.
Previously Dr Heffernan set up and ran Northern European
operations for Promega, a major US biotechnology company,
then ran the North American commercial operations. He has
also held senior executive positions with Sigma-Aldrich
Corp, USA and Celltech, UK. Dr Heffernan has a BSc and PhD
in Chemistry from Strathclyde University.

Frank
Matthäi started his business career as an independent
consultant to entrepreneurs who were establishing new businesses.
In the early 1990s he became managing partner of Ponton,
an innovative group working in the field of interactive
media. With his partners he developed the company to a group
with three divisions: software developing, strategic consultancy
and interactive media. In addition they developed a portfolio
of innovative companies in which they held a minority stake.
Since the end of 2001 Mr. Matthäi has been an independent
consultant for small and midcap technology companies. His
main areas of focus are the financial, administration and
strategic functions. Mr.
Matthäi has wide experience as a CFO and in the acquisition
of and management of companies.
Mike
Pisano
Chief Scientific Officer
Dr.
Pisano has many years experience in protein biochemistry
including more than 11 years in the pharmaceutical industry.
His expertise includes protein separations, protein characterization,
electrophoresis, and mass spectrometry. Dr. Pisano has managed
laboratory research groups within the pharmaceutical industry
in the areas of protein production and proteomics since
1996. Positions he has held in the pharmaceutical industry
include Group Leader, Proteomics and Protein Production,
Dept. of Biotechnology, Rhone-Poulenc Rorer Pharmaceuticals;
Head, Protein Sciences, Dept. of Biotechnology Aventis Pharmaceuticals;
Vice-President Proteomic R&D, Genomic Solutions, Inc.
In addition, Dr. Pisano serves on the Scientific Advisory
Board of several life sciences companies and instrumentation
manufacturers. Dr. Pisano is one of the founders of PRS
(2001).
