2D Electrophoresis

2D gel electrophoresis is the most widely used separations technique in protein   research. Despite its popularity, the technique has undergone few improvements in   the last 30 years, and it remains a complex, time-consuming method. In response   to demands for the technique to be improved, NextGen Sciences has developed a   range of advanced technologies, which automate and optimise 2D methodology   and deliver superior results.

The a2DEoptimizer™ is the first system to automate gel casting to user-defined gradients. The bench-top system provides complete PC control for planning and monitoring 2D processes, runs high-speed IEF at up to 10,000V, and will cast gradient gels of any dimension. The a2DEoptimizer improves manual 2-dimensional electrophoresis by increasing reproducibility and enhancing the resolution of protein separations.
